  • I’M VEGAN, WHAT ABOUT YOU?

When we hear the word ‘diet’ we naturally & almost immediately think ‘food’. There’s nothing wrong with that, because we are predisposed & hardwired to react from auto responses on a subconscious level. But if we take the time to carefully consider everything that we consume on a daily basis, we’d soon realize that food is merely one of the many things that we ingest & absorb.

Just like food, we synthesize other environmental stimuli, whether we are consciously aware of this or not. The things we read, watch, music we listen to, the friends we hang out & converse with, the family systems we function & operate in, business people we surround ourselves with etc. are all feeding us on some level. So, let’s get to the matter of fact which is … “WE ARE INDEED WHAT WE EAT!” 

We express, what we gather & possess within. We live inside out, & the contributions we make in our societies are a direct result of what we contain. Many of us function on a perpetual ‘auto-pilot’ mode & it’s become very frustrating talking with people who choose NOT to take responsibility for where they find themselves in their lives, almost handing their lives over to fate. Yes, we cannot always control what we’re exposed to, BUT WE CAN CONTROL OUR IN-TAKE & OUR RESPONSES TO STIMULI.

Overindulging in burgers, ice-cream, french fries, cakes, sweets, would show obvious signs of a bad diet because the body literally takes on a different shape & the quality of the human anatomy on an exterior level deteriorates. This is why there are so many diet fads & pop-up gyms out there crawling with subjects who are ready to make physical changes. But what about the inside of the body? I am a strong believer that your outsides match your insides. READ THAT AGAIN! This is quite a bold statement to make I know, & I’ve stuck my neck out on this one but I stand by my theory. Now, use a hypothetical magnifying glass and inspect your life & your surroundings. You have just taken your first step to self-inquiry.  WOO WOO!!

Anyway LOL, sometimes without our conscious knowledge, we are responding to certain stimuli under & within the influence of what we’re constantly exposing ourselves to, what we are ingurgitating gradually, over time. We may not mindfully be sorting through or isolating events to match or attract the things we do, but our energy seeks out what it now knows & resonates with. Let me make an example here. “All I ever read are books on war, strategies of defense, signs of manipulation in others etc. Every other person I may now come into contact with, will automatically be viewed through my lens of defense. This may lead to me warding off any genuine love, care a& affection because of the deceit I have trained myself to believe exists in others. The compound effect of these patterns of behavior through social learning & of course the literature & multimedia I’ve opened my mind to, starts to carve out a groove in my psyche which becomes my new go-to response with everything.” This groove becomes reinforced, with every conscious or unconscious habitual action & these habits become harder to break. This is why it is so important to live consciously & to nip whatever red flags we identify, in the bud on its onset, be that with the things we eat or the series we binge on.
